Many thanks are due to all the kind, patient people on the Waterfall Glen MUD at Argonne National Laboratory who taught me how to use the MUD, set bits which allowed me to play around with stuff, and forgave my lapses of MUD ettiquette even when severe (a special nod to the folks in the Treetop Hangout Room who kindly sent me on my way when I didn't realize how rudely I was testing my verbs in their space).
