AG Development Environment for Mac OSX (in Development)

The following guide provides step by step instructions for setting up a development environment on Mac OSX.

Prerequisites

Xcode

For building, developing and testing of the media tools for the Access Grid, Xcode is required to be installed. Xcode provides the compilers and tools required for “vic” and “rat” development.

To build installers for the Access Grid, you'll need to have the required dependencies installed on your system, as found on the dependencies page.

AG Development Environment for Fedora, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS and Scientific Linux

The following guide provides step by step instructions for setting up a development environment on Fedora, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS and Scientific Linux.

This guide will assumes that the system has a working installation of Linux installed.  Instructions for installation and other AG documents can be found at http://www.accessgrid.org/documentation.  Ensure the AG software is already installed, as this is the easiest way to have all the required dependencies available.

Access Grid Developer Tutorial

The end-goal of this guide is to convey complete understanding of development with the Access Grid Toolkit. To that end, it covers very basic development, standard extensions including shared applications and node services, and details of using some of the other collaborative facilities in the AG.
